A Portion of every purchase of Mirasol yarn is dedicated directly to the funding of a school in the remote area of Mun`ani. The Project takes it’s name for that of Mirasol and 8 year old girl who, along with her younger brother, tends a flock of 350 alpaca. The purpose of the centre is to provide an infant and childcare program and also after school support for older children and thereby address the nutrition and education issues that make this community so disadvantaged. With one of the lowest levels of health and education in Peru with an illiteracy rate of 95%. The Mirasol project was set up in 2006 and money already raised from the sale of yarn has enabled the building of the centre to begin. This is one reason I have dedicated myself to carrying the complete line of Mirasol yarn and that it is a Very Soft, High Quality and Durable Yarn.
